OUR STORY
We live on a sunny island with breathtaking landscapes — Cyprus. Here, between the mountains and the sea, where the Mediterranean breeze refreshes us daily, we’re trying to build a dream. A dream that didn’t start on the beach, but on a tennis court.
Our journey began when our son was 7 years old, attending an international tennis tournament — Paris, Ten-Pro. His father, a performance tennis coach, was awarded "Coach of the Tournament," and the team earned several victories. On the way back home, Alex told us: “I want to play professional tennis.” We thought it was just a passing excitement. But day after day, training after training, we realized it wasn’t just a dream — it was his calling.
What followed were daily practices, sacrifices, and a complete shift in our family rhythm. I put my job on hold and became his emotional backbone. Because I understood: the road to performance is neither easy nor short.
Training happens every day. And sometimes, we’re tired. Sometimes drills don’t go well, frustration builds up, and progress feels invisible. There are blocks. Anxiety. Even panic attacks. But all of it — every feeling — is part of the journey.
It’s even more complex when the father is both parent at home and coach on court. And as parents, we’re constantly trying to balance the demands of professional sport with the needs of our other child — a teenage girl with her own dreams. We try to stay fair, present, emotionally available. Sometimes we get it right. Sometimes we don’t.
But this blog is not about trophies. It’s about what you don’t see — the exhaustion, the disappointments, the tears after a loss, the silence that follows defeat, the rage, the blocked emotions, the inner doubts. It’s about the trainings where nothing works, and yet, we show up again. The real story doesn’t unfold on the podium — it’s written on the way there.
Mom and Son Tennis Dream is a place where we share our journey with honesty. Here you’ll find interviews, real images, reflections from a mother, family moments, and useful resources. I write hoping that you’ll see yourself in our story. And that maybe, you’ll find the courage to share your own.

Let’s support these children. Let’s stand by them. Let’s stop judging them — and instead, let’s start understanding their emotions.
This is not just about victories. It’s about the courage to keep going — day after day.
